For Day 11 of #18DaystoMGDebut, I’m looking at my book’s SWAG, and I do love it.
When I was working on the many revisions for THE BOY, THE BOAT, AND THE BEAST, I had an idea for an item I would give readers if this story ever became an actual book. In 11 days, that book is getting published by Paula Wiseman Books/Simon & Schuster and that item is included in my Pre-Order Thank You Gifts. I call it a “comfort square.”
In the book, the Boy wakes up alone on a mysterious beach and all he has is a piece of blue fabric in his pocket. Thanks to the awesomeness of Spoonflower.com, I created pieces of blue fabric with the book’s title and “Make your own courage,” a line from the book. The fabric is so soft and comforting, and everyone who has received one so far has said they love it. I do love mine. 🙂
In other THE BOY, THE BOAT, AND THE BEAST SWAG, there are bookmarks featuring the book’s beautiful cover and “Make Your Own Courage” stickers. And for the pre-order Grand Prize, I got a cute owl, and owl bookmark and hand-painted a wooden boat with “THE BOY, THE BOAT, AND THE BEAST” on the sides and “Make Your Own Courage” on the back. I hope the winner loves it.
Have you pre-ordered THE BOY, THE BOAT, AND THE BEAST yet? All pre-orders are eligible for a Thank You Gift, and can be entered to win a special book-themed gift pack.
